UM Faculty and StaffFaculty and staff may access the campus network either via the campus’s wireless network, any departmental data jack, or any open network data jack. Department data jacks are located in most offices and conference rooms. Open network jacks are found in many of the campus’s computer labs and classrooms. Please refer to the Mobile@Maryland for further information on using the campus's wireless network. Before faculty or staff set up their computer to access the campus network, they should check with their department’s LAN (Local Area Network) admin to make sure that their department does not have any special procedures for how department computers are configured. The LAN admin may also be able to assist in more quickly setting up the computer. If your LAN admin is unable to assist you or you would like to go it alone, the below procedure may be used to set up a non-wireless computer:
